Skin

Your skin is the basis for your wedding day makeup as this is where it all begins. If you don’t already have one, start a skincare regimen now. Using a facial moisturizer with a SPF of at least 15 is a great way of limiting your exposure to the sun in the weeks before your wedding.

Remember that healthy glowing skin also depends on your drinking plenty of water, eating right, getting the proper exercise and plenty of sleep.

If you decide to get a facial, have it done at least two weeks before your wedding.
Schedule your final facial waxing at least a week before your wedding. If you’ve never had your eyebrows shaped, start two months in advance to create the perfect look.   Don’t pluck your eyebrows the day of your wedding or you may end up with red bumps.

The One Chemical Peel You Need to Try for Stunning Skin

"You've cleansed, toned, moisturized, and sun-screened routinely for six months straight. You may have even invested in facials, tried an at-home microcurrent device, or derma-rolled through gritted teeth (please, collagen, appear overnight). And yet, somehow, your skin just doesn’t glow from the inside out as you've always dreamed it would when you said, “I do.” Time to give up? No, time to head to a trusted M.D. for the VI Peel, a light chemical peel that removes the damaged outer layers of skin for a smoother texture and game-changing glow.

We sought out Melissa Doft, M.D., a board-certified plastic surgeon and clinical assistant professor of surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Doft sold us on the peel when she explained how it combines many of the best peeling ingredients (Phenol and TCA) with anti-aging ones (retinol A, vitamin C), minus any irritating hydroxy acids. “The VI peel helps to improve the tone, texture, and clarity of skin while reducing age spots, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation,” she says. “It also softens fine lines and acne scars while stimulating collagen production for firmer, more youthful skin.” Sound too good to be true?"

Creating A Flawless Face

Most brides want to look like themselves, but glowing. Primer is a staple before applying foundation. It helps set makeup without settling into the pores. Choose a lightweight foundation that blends perfectly into your neckline and natural undertone.

The next step is to set the foundation with powder applied with a brush for a flawless complexion that will last the entire day.

Natural Eyes

It’s a good idea for your eye makeup to look natural but intensified. Begin with a neutral shadow as a base and highlight the brow bone and the inner corner of the eye with a light shimmer shadow for a fresh look to the eye. Finish the look with a soft shadow liner and mascara, mascara, mascara.

Rosy Cheeks

It’s important to wear a rosy, soft, natural matte blush. Stay away from blushes with shimmer or darker shades as they will look harsh in your wedding pictures.

Lips

To help your lip color last all day, start with a soft liner and pencil the entire lip area. Then pick a lipstick and apply a layer of gloss over the top. A little shine is the finishing touch to the bridal glow.

Remember, keep your makeup clean and classic. Great wedding photos will reflect how beautiful you look and the makeup you wear should only enhance your features. Most of all, relax, enjoy your family and friends and a day that is forever yours.

Customer Reviews

“Mirror Mirror made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day! Jess was amazing and understanding of my vision in a very soft, natural glam. She was so good at communicating and always would introduced me to products I can’t live without. She was so professional but so down to earth. I would totally recommend the bridal team”
